Qualifies for free shipping! The La Cigarette Poster was designed by one of the most important graphic artists of the second-half of the 20th century, Rene Gruau. With his first work being published in the mid-1920’s, Gruau’s career spanned an impressive eight decades, designing posters for some of the largest advertisers in Europe including the Moulin Rouge, Cinzano, and Air France. It was Gruau’s work for the fashion industry that truly solidified his legacy, however. Decades of high-caliber work for Christian Dior, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and other iconic houses propelled Gruau into one of the world’s premier fashion illustrators and trendsetters for the modern man and woman in high-society. La Cigarette was printed in 1983 for the publication Editions du Desastre, and speaks to the quintessential spirit of Gruau: the glamourous, successful, and modern woman.
