The Header and the Goalie pieces were produced in 1963 and meant to be used during the two following years for the Spanish-held qualifying games of the 1966 World Cup. They were printed as stock images or posters without text. As they were used, printing companies would attach banners that held the variations of identifiable information for each game, i.e. location, ticket sales, etc. Although a number of different countries would have been in attendance, both posters show the home country of Spain versus the recognizable blue and white stripes of Argentina.
This piece is an authentic vintage poster from an original run. Acrylic UV Plexiglass is recommended for framing in order to preserve the artwork. Includes certificate of authenticity.
