Qualifies for free shipping! Stall designed this fantastically bright and cheerful Champagne Joseph Perrier Poster circa 1920, shortly after the end of WWI. While France was a country fighting off devastation and mourning, marketers and graphic artists set out to brighten up the world and alleviate the pains of the previous years, thus spawning the Art Deco movement.
J. Stall was a top posterist, highly influenced by the father of Art Deco, Leonetto Cappiello. In this piece, he makes use of Cappiello’s classic style: solid background, bold and whimsical figure in the forefront, minimal text, and bright colors. It speaks to a time of celebrations, peace and prosperity, as this Marianne-esque figure raises her bottle of champagne in freedom.
This piece is an authentic vintage poster from an original run. Acrylic UV Plexiglass is recommended for framing in order to preserve the artwork. Includes certificate of authenticity.
